HARPER FINANCIAL SERVICES, LLC

What Makes Us Tick

I am dedicated to providing sound financial guidance and investment services to my clients. I can serve people by explaining the important long-term role that insurance / financial products (financial defense) and investments (financial offense) play in every person’s financial picture. Helping to protect and build family assets is very rewarding personally. With integrity, I put the best interest of people before my own profit. It is my personal objective to help people identify their need and then help them to accomplish what they want to do. My intent is to share with people in a non-threatening way. In this manner I can build a quality clientele of responsible individuals who appreciate the value of my services.

I approach my practice differently than most. As a Christian I try not to leave my faith in Church on Sunday. My faith has a direct impact on my ethics. I am truly exicited about the opportunity to have a Christian impact on the financial world and to help those that are interested to put their faith in their investments. For those who prefer more of traditional investment approach they know my ethics are grounded by my faith.

Some large financial firms have brand name, but limited propriety products and solutions. You may need an larger account size to receive personal service rather than a service desk of rotating junior advisors . The recommendations may be more of a canned template approach with transaction costs and commissions. These limitations can penalize clients in their financial planning. Bigger is not always best. Choosing an independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) can bring you a superior model for your investment program. This is a more personalized and objective experience without limited solutions.

As a Registered Investment Advisor firm in Michigan, Harper Financial Services, LLC has that superior model to help you reach your financial goals. Investing requires having an interest, knowledge and time. If an individual is missing any one of the three consider using an advisor, mistakes cost more than a fee. The fee is for the advise and value I bring to our relationship and in helping you and your family to achieve your long-term financial goals. The “Big Mistakes” are the Enemy of Investment Success. The fee is “Big Mistake Insurance”.

What services are provide for the fee? Basically three things. First, I work with you to determine your long-term financial needs and goals, and then I make a plan to help you achieve those goals. Second, I create a portfolio that seeks to balance the returns you need to achieve with your emotional tolerance for risk and volatility. Third, I help you stay on plan, especially when unsettling economic or market events threaten to derail it. What's important is that you achieve your financial goals for yourself and your family. For these services I charge a percentage of your assets, keeping our economic interests closely aligned. If your portfolio suffers – I suffer. If your portfolio prospers – I prosper.

Since the direct cost of planning and investing yourself will almost always be less than the cost of advise, the question becomes: does the value of the advice more than offset the cost? Let's say investing on the Internet costs nothing, and my advice costs .90%. Does it seem probable to you that my advice will:
> Add more than .90% a year to your total lifetime return?
> Save you more than .90% a year in mistakes not made during stressful market events?
> Save you more than .90% a year in time, effort and anxiety?
If it does, then the advice is worth it. What you should ask then is, "Who do I trust more? Who do I think will stand by me and my family when the road gets rough?" That's the advisor for you. I don't recommend shopping for the cheapest cardiologist, and surely don't recommend going with the cheapest financial advisor.

In order to provide the highest level of investment services I have chosen Trade PMR, a member of NASD/ SIPC, an Investment Service Company for RIA’s. Trade PMR provides RIA’s greater selection at minimal cost and serves as the back office for Harper Financial Services, LLC. Actual holding of securities and clearing of securities transactions are not done at Trade PMR. Trade PMR clears through Sterne, Agee & Leach, a member of the New York Stock Exchange. They have served the investment community for over 80 years, provide excellent statements and allow us to buy many mutual funds and waive the front-end loads (sales charge or commissions) and transaction fees.
